"THE DIEHARD" COMPANY

We wear Home Service review order dress, as would have been seen on garrison duties and manoeuvres throughout this country circa 100 years ago. The tunics are post-1881 (Cardwell reforms) pattern with white English Country line regimental facings and the spiked helmets are the full dress type worn during the latter part of the last century and up until the outbreak of the First World War.

We also wear 1882 pattern buff leather equipment and are armed with Martini Henry rifles introduced in 1874 and in service until the 1890s. The bayonets are the 1876 'lunger' pattern and both weapons saw service in India, Zululand, The Transvaal and early Sudan Campaigns.
